Overview :

Formerly the Avenue Coking Works in Wingerworth and thought to be one of the most contaminated sites in Western Europe. This project involved transforming heavily polluted industrial land into a place that can be used and enjoyed by people and wildlife. When completed, the site will house residential and business accommodation, public open space, sporting facilities and ecological habitats.
